Our Story

Olo began with a simple idea, that nobody should have to waste time waiting in line to get their food. The restaurant industry's service model was broken. Why force a customer to wait when they could order and pay right from their phone?

In 2005, we set to work with primitive tools: feature phones. We let customers set up their favorite orders online and order and pay by sending a text message. Some people thought that was pretty cool. So our phones started to ring.

By January 2012, six and a half years into our journey, our millionth customer ordered online. One year later, it was two million. Now in 2018, we’re adding a million new guests every two weeks, serving over 100 million customers for takeout and delivery on branded restaurant apps and sites.

Now that 80% of Americans are using smartphones, we’re helping large restaurant brands embrace digital hospitality while driving more revenue from their existing footprint.

Our mission is the same today as it was in 2005:

Provide customers with better, faster, more personal service from the restaurants they love.

    Our technology powers many of the restaurant industry's most successful digital programs. We're looking for smart, dedicated and passionate people to help meet our growth goals. Our headquarters is located at 26 Broadway in the historic Standard Oil Building, and we have Olo employees working all around the country. Want to know what makes us tick?
